2S1 Gvozdika (Carnation)

I won't use the Russian common name for this Gvozzzzdika. 2S1 or the Russian translation Carnation is a lot easier. The Americans gave the code name M1974. Seen first on the Polish Army parade in 1974. NATO took a lot of interest with the configuration.

For years these were impossible to get, but now a few are starting to appear on the market. And are being snapped up quickly by the African countries. Reasonably priced they are a good deal and without all the realibility issues like ours, they make great toys. Whether off road or once converted. poping down to Tesco's for your pint of milk on a Sunday morning. They're bound to keep you smiling.
